Balgowlah Restorations started in 1981 at the beginning of the Victorian and Federation home restoration revival. Fireplaces in these buildings were often incomplete or missing altogether.

We began to manufacture cast iron replacement parts to satisfy increasing demand and this led to the restoration and reproduction of complete fireplaces, along with their timber and stone mantelpieces.

Fireplaces nowadays are quite different to look at when compared to their predecessors, however the operating principals are the same.

Gas fires are by far the most popular open fires in Sydney today and they are so realistic that you have to look twice. Gasfires are completely safe, can heat efficiently and look fabulous.

Balgowlah Restorations can design, supply and install new fireplaces as well as restoring originals.
